CompanyWe focus on:
Family governance, administration
Aggregate portfolio monitoring and reporting
Many of our clients are still involved with an operating business and do not have the capacity for oversight on their liquid wealth. As a result clients are typically overbanked from product oriented entities with a lack of an overall picture when it comes to tracking investment returns from an overall portfolio level.
At ALPS we are cognizant of the client’s operating business and will help clients focus on the big picture based on each and everyone’s individual needs. As we are not affiliated to any bank or service provider, ALPS offers unbiased advice that are aligned with the client. This includes asset class analysis, manager selection and reporting, as well as consolidated reporting.
Investment Management Options:
A large majority of our client accounts are under the Discretionary Management Agreement. Under this option, our clients entrust ALPS with the day to day management of their entire portfolio based on a predefined set of investment objectives, asset allocation preferences, and risk profile.
All portfolios are customized and reviewed together with the client on a regular basis in a consolidated format.
Another option for clients is to choose a more “hands-on” approach. Under the Advisory Investment Agreement, clients can have more regular interaction with ALPS and more detailed discussions on investment strategy and opportunities.
This option gives the client full control of day to day portfolio decision making with the access and support of ALPS’ professional independent advice.
Identification of client needs, risk profile, return and cash flow objectives
Asset Allocation Decision
Manager Selection (introduce clients to appropriate managers)
Implement the investment plan and use appropriate custodian(s)
Monitor performance and risk on manager and total portfolio levels
Monthly consolidated reporting to include:
– Performance attribution
– Executive summary
The ALPS In-House Investment Team has an extensive global reach for research. We leverage our proprietary platform for searching, filtering, and analyzing independent fund managers to filter down the investable universe to best-in-class managers within each individual asset class; including many top quality managers not followed by large banks. On an ongoing basis, ALPS will also monitor and evaluate these managers to benchmark and compare performance risk on a portfolio level.
